Founded in 1866, the University of New Hampshire is a top-tier land-, sea-, and space-grant public university, serving more than 10,000 undergraduates and 2,000 graduate students. Recognized as a rising star among research universities, the University retains the atmosphere of a New England liberal arts college with a faculty dedicated to undergraduate teaching. Within its seven schools and colleges, the University offers 2,000 courses in more than 100 majors and a wide range of opportunities for internships, study abroad, and national exchange experiences.
During your visit, the Memorial Union Building (MUB), Dimond Library and athletic facilities will be on hand. The Dimond Library with periodical and media centers is located in the middle of campus, just behind Thompson Hall. The MUB houses the university bookstore, computer clusters reading and meeting rooms (including the Granite State room where most SPD meetings will be held), as well as access to Holloway Commons (university dining) and cafes.
